Applying as a detailer at Everett Nissan in Boone. They sounded like they could work with my summer class schedule, which is great.

Kinja'd!!!

Any dealership jobs horror stories to scare me away?

The first gear of the morning shift today should do a pretty thorough job of scaring you away from a Nissan dealer

I feel like in detailing I don’t have to worry much about Nissan Corperation.

I used to clean out old OTR trucks and do the company owner’s suburbans from time to time.

Do you remember the colors of those Suburbans? Those are important details.

One was a white Suburban, 201o LTZ 4x4, tan interior. Another one was a 201o Tahoe, LTZ, 4x4, broken rear defroster, buttons rubbed off, it was metallic grey. Also 2006 Ford Expedition, Red, Eddie Bauer, 4x4.

Thanks! I’m pretty confident. The guy I applied with said I was the only one so far and it had been posted for a week.

That was my first “real” job. I was a detailer at a Buick/Pontiac/Caddy/GMC dealer. It wasn’t a bad gig. I enjoyed it quite a bit at the time.

Do you have to provide your own cleaning supplies?

Kinda. But wouldn’t a staff detailer have supplies provided?

I once worked at a Mercedes dealership. I detailed and washed 140k plus Mercedes with one sponge ALL DAY!!!...that’s as horrible as it gets. Was a good gig in college though...not so good for the clear coats. BTW good luck!!

I have no idea!

But, that would be a great question to ask during the interview!

Good luck fella.

Worth asking if you have any say in products you have to use as there may be products you don’t get on with or ones you prefer.
